Immersive TelePresence

The TelePresence term in the past
few years has
been used to describe 720p HD or 1080p HD videoconferencing systems.  We have been delivering 1080p systems to our customers for years.  We also offer Immersive TelePresence, which typically refers to three-screen specially designed systems with specially designed equipment and furniture.  We have installed and maintained these manufacturer-based systems, which are suitable for certain applications.

We have also found that large single and dual custom-designed 1080p systems can deliver a high quality experience at a fraction of the equipment, installation, and operating cost of manufacturer-based, three-screen immersive systems.  Keep in mind that total cost of ownership over a five-year period should be used to evaluate the ROI on immersive systems.  Immersive rooms can have substantial monthly support costs because of high bandwidth requirements and high service costs.  It’s also important to note that 1080p HD can be delivered in many ways from desktop to mobile, to large rooms systems cost effectively.
